January of 2014 at Crater Lake was like spring. It was 50+ degrees during the day and there was only a couple feet of snow. That also meant clear skies…But it is still such a beatuiful place to visit. My friend and I set out from Rim Village at 5am and made it to this overlook between Watchmen and HIllman peaks just before the sun started to rise. The lake was so still and the refletion was almost pristine, it was seen a bit better later on in the day. I love visiting this park and have yet to do so in any season but winter. Perhaps this was Crater’s way of telling me that I must!
