We camped for a couple nights in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. I knew before we came that I wanted to check out these sand dunes on the West side of the park (an hour’s drive from the main visitor center). We had to get keys for a gate permitting access to the trailhead out to these dunes. Well worth the effort. This was one of the most beautiful sunsets of our cross-country trip and the dunes were just so unique.
