I had literally just left a scout camp where I was teaching both the photography and camping merit badges when this happened. I just pulled over on the side of the road, I’ll admit somewhat into this field, grabbed my tripod and camera and ran up this hill to the middle of the field. This color ignited the sky so quickly and luckily lasted much longer. Despite having no plan and having no clue where I really was, I think I ended up with some great images. This was one of the most amazing skies I had ever seen. I was so glad I had my gear with me! As I was finishing up and walking back to my car, a pickup had just pulled over and two guys got out checking out my car. Thinking I was going to get some flack for trespassing in this field, I ran back down this hill and told them I was just taking some pictures. They smiled and said they were just making sure everything was okay and that they farm that field I was in. I thanked them and immediately turned on the A/C. I love chasing light.
